Our Story

Le Grenier du Lin was born from a passion for linen and from our family’s artisanal heritage. Established in a historic building in Hondschoote since 2004, our boutique-workshop carries on a local tradition where each creation tells a story: the story of linen, which has shaped our region. In 2018, Le Grenier du Lin expanded to the Belgian coast with a shop in De Panne.

Deep Roots, Strong Commitments

Le Grenier du Lin draws its identity from a unique family history. We come from the Van Robaeys family, renowned historical flax scutchers. This tradition inspires us every day to create authentic pieces that are respectful of the environment.

Our commitment goes beyond creation: it is part of a concrete CSR approach. We prioritize short supply chains and local commerce, collaborating with local partners to support and energize the regional economy.

Our Sewing Workshop

Our in-house sewing workshop, integrated into the store, embodies artisanal quality by producing thoughtful, durable, and original collections.

These values make Le Grenier du Lin much more than a shop: it is a committed local player dedicated to authenticity and the transmission of regional heritage.

A Story That Continues...

In 2004, Valérie and Arnaud Van Robaeys opened the doors of their attic and brought Le Grenier du Lin to life.

At that time, their daughter Juliette was only 6 years old. She grew up surrounded by creations, conversations with customers, and the projects that shaped the identity of Le Grenier du Lin. This upbringing passed on more than passion: it instilled a true culture of craftsmanship and a deep attachment to family values.

In 2026, Juliette officially joined the company to carry forward this story and this unique know-how.

Our family is writing a new chapter, blending tradition with modernity, with a clear ambition: to promote local craftsmanship and weave it into everyday life by offering creations that tell a story.
